Enterprise Spam Protection
Guest:
David Perry
Trend Micro, Inc. (NASDAQ: TMIC) is a leader in network antivirus and Internet content security software and services. Spamming has become relatively easy since email protocols are easier to forge, user addresses are simple to harvest, and there is virtually no cost involved with sending out spam. By 2004, an estimated 50% of corporate incoming email will be comprised of spam if the company does not initiate procedures to attack this problem.
David Perry, Global Director of Education lets us know about Trend Micro's Enterprise Spam Prevention Service. This service for enterprise networks is designed to block non-productive and malicious spam at the Internet gateway and interoperates seamlessly with the company's other antivirus and content security products. This service based on heuristic technology (probability determined) eliminates 90-95% of the spam including new types with very emails falsely labeled as spam.
